There are two types of mediation as it pertains to family law. Court-ordered mediation regarding custody and  voluntary mediation. Parties who have a dispute about custody or visitation in New York may be required to attend a mandatory custody mediation session at the courthouse. If an Order to Show Cause is filed on your behalf, a copy will be given to you. Ms. DeGiorgio also has a post graduate certification in mediation from the Center for Mediation in Law.
